Mrs. Ann O'Neal Morgan, age 82, of McDonough, died May 28, 2005. Her husband, William Hueston Morgan, father, R.J. O'Neal, and grandfather, L.S. O'Neal, preceded her in death.
Survivors are her son, Danny Morgan, of McDonough; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Jo and Ted Ebert, of Warner Robins, and June and George Overton, of Morrow; grandchildren, Andy and Julie Overton, and Jessica Baswell; mother, Lena Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Mack VanBenthuysen, of Fountain Inn, S.C.; nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Morgan will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Rev. Preston Bridges officiating. Interment will be at Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery in McDonough. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Haisten Funeral Home (770) 914-8833.
Janie Shaw Petty, age 75, of McDonough, went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2005.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Carling Petty; sons, Michael Carling (Laura) Petty, of Lawrenceville, Stephen John (Lisa) Petty, of McDonough; six grandchildren, Justin, Benjamin, Zachary, Jonathon, Christopher and Rachel Petty; brother, Carl (Coreda) Shaw Jr., of McDonough; sisters, Betty (Bobby) Russell, of McDonough, and Catherine Dilback, of McDonough; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Petty was predeceased by her parents, Carl and Lilly Shaw Sr.
Memorial services will be today at 11 a.m. in the Southwest Christian Church in East Point, with Dr. Jim Dyer officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Christian Hospice, 7225 Lester Road, Union City, Ga., 30291. The family received friends Sunday at the Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City (770) 631-9171.
