Herb Langley, age 75, beloved husband, grandfather, brother and friend of Forest Park, died May 29, 2005, at Sacred Journey Hospice. Herb was born March 20, 1930, in Fyffe, Ala., son to the late Lewis and Flora Graves Langley. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force as a Military Police Staff Sergeant in Korea during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. He retired from Delta Air Lines in 1987, after 23 years as a sheet metal mechanic.

He is survived by his wife of more than 45 years, Janet (Jan) Rupp Langley; children, Ted Langley, of Forest Park, and Stan and DeAnn Langley, of McDonough; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Preston Langley, of McDonough; sister, Virginia Hicks, of Rainesville, Ala.; "adopted" son, Ronald LaSocha, and "adopted" grandchildren, Krista, Kortney and Brandon LaSocha, of Newnan; special friends, Max and Bonnie Goggans, of New Ellenton, S.C., and Sonny and Bonnie Strohm, of Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his son, Steven; granddaughter, Ashley; and brothers, Barnard, Bill, Emmett and Tommy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Tim Luke officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that any donations be made to the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy cheerleading/football program to honor beloved grandchildren Elizabeth and Preston.
