In a battle of two undefeated teams, the Lovejoy Middle School girls basketball team rolled to a 43-20 victory against Adamson. With the victory, Lovejoy improved to 4-0. Adamson dropped to 3-1. Nine players scored for Lovejoy with Courtney Crooms scoring 25 to lead the way. Lovejoy 39, Adamson 33 (boys): Brandon Hopkins tossed in 21 as Lovejoy improved to 4-0. Kendrick 47, Riverdale 28 (boys) Gerald Hunter didn't let a sprain ankle get sideline him during Thursday's contest against against Riverdale. Hunter came off the bench to score 11 points en route to the win. Teammate Arthur Evans, who was seriously hurt during the middle school football season, has led the Kendrick basketball team in scoring in all four seasons, including with his 15-point performance against Riverdale. In girls action, Kendrick won 49-8. In other action, Chaquitta Thrower scored 10 to lead the M.D. Roberts girls to a 36-19 win, RaKim Watson and Morris Mitrchel scored 16 each as the M.D. Roberts boys wonm 44-37.More like this story
