Community Christian seniors sign scholarships

The Community Christian Knights, and elite high school basketball team, which is affilated with Community Bible Church in Stockbridge, recently recognized five of its seniors who all signed Division I basketball scholarships.

Krysztof Janiszewski and teammate Aleksander Mrozik, each signed letters of intent to play at Birmingham Southern. Both players came to the United States from Poland.

Janiszewski didn't start playing the game until he was 15, but was playing for the best junior team in Poland at 16. Mrozik was introduced to the game by his brother, who was a professional player in Poland. Mozik speaks four languages.

Petras Balocka, who is from Lithuania, was on his country's junior national team. Spent two years at Jones County High School before transferring to Community Christian. He signed his letter of intent to play at East Tennessee University in the Southern Conferernce.

Ousmane Cisse and Baptiste Bataille will each attend Northeastern University in Boston. Cisse came to the United States from the Ivory Coast, while Bataille is from France.

Bataille came met Community Christian head coach Linzy Davis at the World Championships while playig for his home country.

Cisse came to the United States to attend high school after playing on his country's national team. Last year, he was named the team's best rebounder.
