A Rex man kicked out the window of a moving Clayton County police patrol car and leapt to freedom.
Police originally arrested David Branson Brady, 25, on theft by receiving charges around 7 p.m. Sunday, Clayton County Assistant Police Chief Jeff Turner said. Brady was wanted in connection with the theft of his parents car and, acting on information, officers arrested him somewhere on Fielder Road.
Then they put him in the patrol car.
“They were taking him to jail and he kicked out the window of the moving car,” Turner said.
The car was on Fielder Road near Plantation Drive when Brady jumped out and ran. He remained at large Monday evening.
Brady, a white male, was wearing a red jacket, blue jeans, white tennis shoes and one other thing.
“He still should be wearing handcuffs,” Turner said.
