Roy Carol Hancock, formerly of College Park, Ga., died Oct. 2, 2005 in Tamaqua, Pa.
Born Oct. 16, 1912 in Dudley, Ga., he graduated from Hawkinsville High School in 1931. A chief warrant officer with the U.S. Army in World War II, he was in intelligence, serving in India, South Africa, Egypt, and the Panama Canal. The owner of Triangle Grocery in College Park, Mr. Hancock was a member of the Second Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the South College Park Kiwanis Club, serving as president from 1968-69, and he was awarded "The Kiwanian of the Year" in 1963. He was also a member of the Clayton County Board of Education from 1958-69.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Vivia Northcutt Hancock and Margaret Corgel Hancock.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Duran Smith of Hazleton, Pa., his three grandchildren and their spouses, Ben and Carissa Smith of Carrollton, Ga., Brett and Ranee Smith of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and Dawn and Jeremy Bye of Sutton, Ma. and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday Oct. 6, 2005 at the chapel of Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point, with the Rev. Darwin Caldwell officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-2 p.m.

Woodson A. Houze
Woodson A. Houze, 87 of Forest Park, GA passed away on Monday, October 3, 2005.
Mr. Houze retired from the U.S. Navy after 22 1/2 years of service, where he survived the attack on Pearl Harbor, he also retired from the Forest Park Post Office, and was actively involved at First Baptist Church of Forest Park, where he taught Sunday School for 18 years.
He is survived by: His loving Wife of 60 years, Catherine Houze; daughter, Susan Elaine Houze; son, Charles Michael Houze and wife Jacqueline; grandchildren: Monica H. Miner and husband Chris, Michael Houze and wife Jessica, Mackenzie H. Garrett and husband Al; three great grandchildren: Lindsey Miner, Mallory Miner, and Evan Garrett; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, October 6, 2005 at First Baptist Church of Forest Park, Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 5, from 2 until 4 and again from 6 until 8 p.m.

Linda C. Belgio
Linda C. Belgio, 58 of Morrow, Ga., passed away on Monday, October 3, 2005.
She is survived by: Son, Louis "Ricky" Belgio III of Morrow, Ga.; Sister, Mary and Byers Rogan of Roswell, Ga.; Brother, Bob and Martha Courson of Stockbridge, Ga.; Niece, Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at Ward's Parkway Chapel with interment to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. Pastor Danny Fesperman will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m.

Cheryl Lewan Verner of Riverdale passed away Monday, October 3, 2005 at the age of 56. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Eastside Baptist Church with interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Rev. Earl Pirkle and Rev. Chris Gilliam will officiate. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Beck and grandson, Jonathan William Verner; she is survived by her husband, Delton Verner; daughter, Karen Verner, Riverdale; son, Stephen D. (Brandy) Verner, Monroe; brothers, LTC (Ret) Gary S. (Diana) Beck, Knoxville, Tenn., Tim (Lisa) Beck, Roswell; uncle, Charles Beck, Roanoke, Va.; grandchildren, Bryson Verner and Alayna Verner; nieces and nephews.
