Starr's Mill (6-1) at Mundy's Mill (3-3) Tonight, 7:30 p.m. at Twelve Oaks The Starr's Mill Panthers are on the verge of securing a spot in the Class AAAAA state playoffs. After losing to McEachern to open the season, Starr's Mill has rolled to six-straight wins. Mundy's Mill started the season with three straight wins, but is now trying to keep its playoff hopes alive with a win tonight. A victory would also break the Tigers' three-game losing streak. Players to Watch: Mundy's Mill-LB Afu Okusn, RB Erroll Wynn, QB Miguel Starks. Daily Prediction: Starr's Mill 24, Mundy's Mill 14. Southwest DeKalb (3-3) vs. North Clayton (4-2) Tonight, 7:30 p.m. at Tara Stadium The North Clayton Eagles stumbled last week against Mays in their Region 5-AAAAA opener. They can't afford to do it tonight when they play at Tara Stadium against Southwest DeKalb 5-AAAA East contest. Southwest DeKalb is 3-3 overall, but 1-0 in league action. Players to Watch: North Clayton-QB/DB Morgan Burnett, RB/DL Dominque Randolph, WR Greg Wingfield. Eagle's Landing (4-2) at Henry County (1-5) Tonight, 7:30 p.m. at Henry County The Eagle's Landing Golden Eagles are starting to think about the playoffs. With a 4-2 record and a 2-1 mark in Region 3-AAAA competition, the Golden Eagles can assure themselves a non-losing record with a win tonight. Henry County has upset on its mind, and also hopes to end a four-game losing streak. Players to Watch: Eagle's Landing-QB Marcus Williams, RB/DB T.J. Tennent, Eddie Wise. Henry County-QB Shawn Pounds, FB Christian Twiggs, LB Chris Jackson Daily Prediction: Eagle's Landing 24, Henry County 14. . Griffin (5-1) vs. Luella (0-6) Tonight, 7:30 p.m. at Luella The Griffin Bears come into tonight's game with a state ranking and riding a three-game winning streak. Luella comes into the contest still looking for its first win of the year. Players to Watch: Luella-QB Cody Hafley, WR/DB Jeremy Ringfield, RB Markis Fortner. Daily Prediction: Griffin 34, Luella 14 Stockbridge (2-5) at Upson Lee (5-1) Tonight, 7:30 p.m. at Upson Lee The Stockbridge Tigers are thinking upset heading into tonght's road Region 3-AAAA tilt against Upson Lee. Upson Lee comes into the contest with a 5-1record and a three- gamewinning streak. Stockbridge enters the contest, trying to break its two-game losing streak. Players to Watch: Stockbridge-QB Chris Legette, WR Nick Langley, DL Hilson Barley. Daily Prediction: Upson Lee 34, Stockbridge 14 ELCA (4-2) vs. Whitefield (3-3) Tonight, 7:30 p.m. in Smyrna After playing six straight non-region games, Eagle's Landing Christian begins its quest to make the playoffs when it hits the road for its Region 5-A opener. Whitefield opened its region slate last week, beating Our Lady of Mercy. Players to Watch: ELCA-QB Wes Carter, RB/LB Russ Cooper, RB/DE Brian Moss Trion (2-4) vs. Dutchtown (2-4) Tonight, 7:30 p.m. in McDonough The Trion Bulldogs, a member of Region 6-A, step up in classification tonight when they travel to play Dutchtown in a non-region game. Dutchtown comes into the contest fresh off a 14-0 victory win last week against Tri-Cities. Players to Watch: Dutchtown-RB/DB Calvin Gibson, OL Matt Donaldson, LB Jarrett Hawkins. Saturday's game: Union Grove (6-1) at Lovejoy (2-4) Saturday, 7:30 p.m. at Twelve Oaks The Union Grove Wolverines are off to a fast start this season, posting a 6-1 overall record and a 2-1 mark in Region 4-AAAAA. Saturday night, they can take another step closer to making the playoffs with a victory on the road against Lovejoy. The Wildcats were picked to win the region in a preseason vote by area sports writers and coaches, but have been beset by injuries and are still looking for their first win in region play. Players to Watch: Union Grove-QB Dustin Alley, RB/DB Owen High, WR Travis Burks. Lovejoy-RB Octavius Edge, WR/DB Chris Hail, OL/DL Byron Isom. Daily Prediction: Union Grove 24, Lovejoy 21 Stone Mountain (0-6) at Jonesboro (0-6) Saturday, 7:30 p.m. at Tara Stadium The Stone Mounain Pirates and the Jonesboro Cardinals share one thing in common tonight heading into the Region 5-AAAA East battle, neither team has won a game so far this season. In last week's game, Jonesboro came close, losing to South Atlanta 14-13. Players to Watch:Jonesboro-RB Brandon Lucas, QB Hendrick Clark, DB P.J. Thomas.
