The Jonesboro High School softball team didn't waste any time getting the Region 5-AAAA offense started on a posititive note Monday night at Lovejoy Park. Jonesboro received a first-round bye, after earning the No.-1 seed, then went out and beat Mays 15-0 in one of the late games in a game called after three innings. Heather Lowry struckout nine and also picked up an RBI. Donisha Harrison, Shawn Gwinn, Megan Baity, Kelssie Currin and Tara Porter all knocked in runs for the Lady Cardinals. Jonesboro plays again today at 7 p.m. against the winner of last night's late game between Cedar Grove and Southwest DeKalbMore like this story
