Tri-Cities (3-4, 2-2) at Riverdale (7-0, 4-0)
7:30 tonight at Twelve Oaks Stadium The Raiders have been in cruise control after beating rival Lovejoy earlier in the season. On the verge of locking up a playoff spot, Riverdale meets Tri-Cities tonight in a Region 2-AAAAA game at Twelve Oaks Stadium. The Raiders have had an extra week to prepare for this game and the last time they took the field, Riverdale beat Redan 23-14. Tri-Cities has won two straight after starting the season 1-4. Players to watch: Riverdale - QB Roderick Mason, QB Tim Johnson, RB Kevin Colbert, LB Vandral Shackleford. Daily Prediction: Riverdale 24, Tri-Cities 20 Lovejoy (2-5, 0-3) at Newnan (3-4, 2-1) 7:30 tonight at Newnan Out of the five losses Lovejoy has this season, the Wildcats have lost by less than three points in three of those contests. Lovejoy led 24-7 midway through the third quarter last Saturday at Twelve Oaks Stadium, but then watched Union Grove rally for a 27-24 victory. Mario Fannin, returning from a one-game absence, was 27 of 42 passing for 324 yards and a pair of scores. The Wildcats would love to play spoiler in the Region 4-AAAAA standings. Players to watch: Lovejoy - QB Mario Fannin, RB Octavious Edge, WR Chris Hail, DL Byron Isom. Daily Prediction: Lovejoy 35, Newnan 28 Mundy's Mill (4-3, 1-2) at Fayette County (2-6, 1-3) 7:30 tonight at Fayetteville Mundy's Mill played the roll of spoiler last week with a Region 4-AAAAA victory against Starr's Mill. The Tigers are a game under .500 in the region standings and could reach the mark this week with a win against Fayette County. The victory was also important for Mundy's Mill, which halted a three-game losing skid, as the Tigers kept their state hopes alive. Players to watch: Mundy's Mill - RB Erroll Wynn, WR Justice Ammah, RB Darryl Naylor, LB McKinley Jenkins. Daily Prediction: Mundy's Mill 21, Fayette County 19 Morrow (0-7, 0-4) at Lithonia (0-7, 0-4) 7:30 tonight at Panthersville Tonight's Region 2-AAAAA game isn't so important in who will be the leader of the standings, but who will be kept from being the bottom team in the region. The Mustangs are coming off a 15-7 loss last Friday to Tri-Cities, while the Bulldogs lost 43-6 to Stephenson. Lithonia has been shutout four times this season, while the Mustangs have been blanked twice. Players to watch: Morrow - QB Marion Riddick, RB Claude Williams, DE Elan Penson, T Marcus Gates. Daily Prediction: Lithonia 18, Morrow 14 East Coweta (4-3, 2-1) at Union Grove (7-1, 3-1) 7:30 tonight in McDonough The Wolverines can control their own destiny in Region 4-AAAAA with a win tonight. Union Grove rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat Lovejoy last Saturday, while Starr's Mill fell to Mundy's Mill last Friday. Although Union Grove and Starr's Mill are tied atop the region standings, and should it finish this way, Starr's Mill would win the tie-breaker based on head-to-head action. Dustin Alley paced the Wolverines last week with three touchdowns. Players to watch: Union Grove - QB Dustin Alley, RB Steven Sylvester, WR Tucker Fellows, DL Drew Maurice. Daily Prediction: Union Grove 28, East Coweta 7 North Clayton (4-3, 0-2) at South Atlanta (1-6, 1-1) 7:30 tonight at Atlanta After what had been a promising start to the 2005 season, the Eagles have struggled to get much going recently, losing two straight in Region 5E-AAAA. The most recent heartbreak was a 14-13 overtime loss last Friday to Southwest DeKalb. North Clayton could get back into the win column against the Hornets, who's only win came against Jonesboro on Sept. 30. Players to watch: North Clayton - QB Morgan Burnett, WR Greg Wingfield, WR Greg Wilson, DL Fred McDaniel. Daily Prediction: North Clayton 21, South Atlanta 14 Columbia (5-2, 1-1) vs. Forest Park (2-5, 0-2) 7:30 p.m. tonight at Tara Stadium The Forest Park Panthers come into tonight's game hoping to snap a two-game losing sreak. Columbia comes into the contest after losing to Washington in a Region 5-AAAA game last week. Players to Watch: Forest Park-TB/FS Darly Miller, QB Willie Barber, LB Quinton McDaniels. Daily Prediction: Columbia 21, Forest Park 7 Saturday's games: Jonesboro (0-7, 0-2) at Southwest DeKalb (4-3, 2-0) Saturday 7:30 p.m. at DeKalb Memorial The Jonesboro Cardinals are running out of chances to win this season. Two weeks ago, they had their best chance, but lost to South Atlanta 14-13. Players to Watch: QB Hendrick Clark, RB Brandon Lucas, OT Justin Parrott. Daily Prediction: Southwest DeKalb 24, Jonesboro 14 Mt. Zion (3-4, 1-1) vs. Cedar Grove (3-4. 1-1) Saturday 7:30 p.m. at Panthersville Stadium The Mt. Zion Bulldogs can keep theor playoff chances alive tonight with a victory on the road against Cedar Grove. The Bulldogs lost last week to Columbia. Players to Watch: Mt.
