Margie Pearl Walden
Margie Pearl Walden, age 78, of Stockbridge, Ga. died Tuesday, October 11, 2005.
She was born in Twin City, Ga. to the late Frank and Lois Cowart Oglesby. She was a 20 year volunteer with the Henry Medical Center Auxiliary and a member of the Stockbridge First United Methodist Church since 1964 where she taught Sunday school, worked in the nursery and was a member of the UMW. Mrs. Walden was also in charge of family ministries for several years, was a member of the choir, and participated in the Disciple Bible Studies. She was a woman of character and strength who loved her family, her Church, all animals and birds, and was an avid Braves fan. Mrs. Walden was also preceded in death by her husband, William Oscar Walden and her son, William David Walden.
Mrs. Walden is survived by daughters, Barbara Jean Gregory, Betty Anne Walden and Donnie Patten, and Mary Catherine Walden, all of Stockbridge, Ga.; granddaughters, Jennifer Nicole Gregory, Columbus, Ga., Jill Michele (Mark) Lees, Canton, Ga., Julie Marie (Brantly) Saye, Alpharetta, Ga.; brother, John Henry (Kay) Oglesby, Albuquerque, NM; sister-in-law, Tommie Catherine Gosdin, Palmetto, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, at Stockbridge First United Methodist Church with the Dr. Jay Hodges and the Rev. John Purrington officiating. Interment will follow at Stockbridge City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Stockbridge First United Methodist Church, Bell Tower Fund, 4863 N. Brenda McBurnett, age 56, of Stockbridge, passed away on October 12, 2005.
Ms. McBurnett is survived by her son, Gerald McBurnett of Stockbridge, daughter, Michelle Parton of Forest Park, 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at Ward's Fairview Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 14 from 4-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
