Esther Smith Moore, 91, of Southern Shores, North Carolina passed away Oct.14 at Outer Banks Hospital.

She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Janis and Jim Kuykendall of Southern Shores, her son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Bonnie Moore of Jonesboro, Georgia, and two sisters, Elise Lowe of Newnan, Ga. and Ruby Patterson of Thomasville, Ga. A loving, devoted, and proud mother, she also leaves behind seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mrs. Moore, a life-long Baptist and Georgia resident, and member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, taught Sunday school for fifty-five glorious years. An Eastern Star member, she was also active in local doll clubs and loved to share her talent of china painting. Much love and thanks go out to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Outer Banks Hospital who gave their all in trying to save a wonderful lady. A special thanks to Father Charles Gill of St. Andrews By The Sea, whose love and compassion will never be forgotten. Mrs. Moore joyously joins in heaven her late husband, Nelson L. Moore (Bubba) and her many other beloved relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at 11a.m. at the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Dean Haun and the Rev. Irvin Pearre officiating. Interment Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Handy, Ga. The family will receive friends Friday, October 21, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
