Richard Gail Souders, age 88, of Morrow, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Easter.
Also surviving him are his children, Katrinka Major of Douglasville, Richard and Judy Souders of Castle Rock, Co., Evelyn and Richard Schmitt of Ocala, Fla., Lillian and Charles Tucker of Henderson, Tenn., 11-grandchildren, 19-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and 33 sisters, Evelyn Cracraft, Ilda Kline and Norma Jean Branstetter.
Mr. Souders was retired from the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic, and served in Vietnam and Korea.
He also retired from Northwest Airlines as a computer programmer.
In his leisure time, he loved playing golf, fishing, and was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball fan.
His family will receive friends for visitation at Pope Dickson & Son - Morrow Chapel on Monday, Sept. 12, from 9-11a.m. with the funeral service to follow with Dr. Warren B. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to The American Red Cross - Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief Fund.
