A Henry County man sought on theft charges turned up in a Clayton County Kroger store after running from Henry Sheriff's deputies executing a warrant, authorities said Monday. Deputies were attempting to arrest Michael Lee Brown, 40, of Winston Way in Hampton, on charges of theft by receiving stolen property, when he fled from deputies, the Henry Sheriff's Office said. "When they were pulling up, he went out the back door," said Henry Sheriff's Lt. Scott Perry. Clayton County authorities were alerted and spotted his vehicle in a Kroger parking lot on Tara Boulevard from the department's helicopter, said Clayton County Police Major Tim Robinson. Brown was arrested inside the store without incident, Robinson said. He was booked into the Henry County Jail Monday afternoon on the theft charge, as well charges of reckless driving, attempting to elude police and license plate violation, according to jail records.More like this story
