Jack Harold Parker
Jack Harold Parker, 64, of Stockbridge, died Thursday, Dec. 6, after a battle with brain cancer and heart disease. Mr. Parker was vice president and co-owner of Parker Brother, Inc., an independent, family owned company of oils, lubricants and service station supplies located in Ellenwood, Ga., for the past 31 years.
He was an active member of a group of citizens developing and maintaining Cochran Park, prior to it becoming a county maintained park. He actively supported the athletic activities of his grandsons. He is survived by his wife, Eunice (Crossley) Parker; son, Hal (Laurie) Parker, of McDonough; daughter, Vicki (Brian) Nichols, of Stockbridge; grandsons, Jake Parker, Luke Parker; granddaughter, Kenna Nichols; sisters, Carol Parker, of Forsyth, Diane Collums and Judy (Howard) King, of McDonough; brothers, Fred (LaVerne) Parker, John (Sara) Parker, of Stockbridge, Ray (Barbara) Parker, of McDonough. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, in the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with the Rev. Jeff McBurnett officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
