Andrew Ryan Hammerstone

Andrew Ryan Hammerstone, age 21, of Griffin, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jess and Marion Hammerstone.

He is survived by his father, Steven J. (Beth) Hammerstone, of Chickamauga; mother Sally Hammerstone, of Covington; brother Michael C. (Ashley) Hammerstone, of Griffin; step-brother, Matthew C. Hester, of Chickamauga; maternal grandparents ,William (Carolyn) Sharpe, CMDR., U.S.N. (Ret.), and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Friday, Nov. 23, at 3p.m., in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville. The Rev. John Purrington will officiate. The body was cremated. Gail Fincher Berry

Gail Fincher Berry (beloved wife, mother and Nana) of Eatonton, Ga., formerly of Rex, passed away Nov. 18, 2007. She was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers' Assoc. Those desiring may send contributions to Shepard's Spinal Clinic, 2020 Peachtree St., Atlanta, Ga.

Gail is survived by her husband, Charles Berry, Eatonton; daughter and husband, Michelle and Michael Stowe, McDonough; Donna Berry, of Locus Grove; three sisters, Sylvia Matthews, Pine Mountain, Becky Wingo, Newnan, Gwen Dunn, Brooks, Ga.; three brothers, Danny, Ronnie and Doug Fincher, all of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Travis and Charly Stowe.

Leon "Tut" M. Reeves, Sr.

Mr. Leon "Tut" M. Reeves, Sr., age 78, of Stockbridge, passed away, Monday, Nov. 19, 2007. "Tut" retired after 41 years with Ford Motor Company in East Point. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law; Susan and Tim Brantley, of Jonesboro, Amy and Leonard Starkley, of Fayetteville; son and daughter-in-law, Leon M. Jr., and Kathye Reeves, of Jackson; daughter, Carol Ann Simmons, of Fayetteville; brother, Gene C. Reeves, of Hiawassee; sister, Doris Carson, of Forest Park; and seven grandchildren.

Milton A. DuPree

Mr. Milton A. DuPree, 83, of McDonough, passed away Nov. 17, 2007. He was born in Bartow County on Aug. 6, 1924, to the late Thaddeaus and Ida Mae Askew. He was a U. S. Marine Veteran, having served as Signal Core Communications leader in Okinawa. He and his wife, Kathryn, were members of the Whirl-A-Way Square Dance Club of Atlanta for many years. He was a warehouse manager for Donahoo Sales Company for many years. His wife, Kathryn A. DuPree, preceded him in death on March 1, 1996.

Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Sherrie and Del Jones, of McDonough; grandson, Jonathan Jones, of McDonough; sister, June Marie Hill; sisters-in-law, Mamie Windom and Ann DuPree, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Irvin Pearre officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Memorial Gardens.

Flowers will be accepted, or in keeping with Mr. DuPree's giving nature, the family has suggested contributing to a family in need.

Milton L. (Mel) Kidd, Jr

Milton L. (Mel) Kidd, Jr, age 47, of McDonough, Ga. died Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 following a lengthy illness. He was born in Cullman, Ala. He was preceded in death by his father, Milton L. Kidd, Sr. and grandparents, A.M. and Mona Bonds Kidd, and Archie C. and Rena Abercrombie Patterson. Mr. Kidd was a graduate of Greater Atlanta Christian School. In high school he excelled in track and field and set school records in shot-put. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he specialized in avionics. He served in Desert Storm servicing the F-111 fighters. He continued his love of aircraft after serving his country working in the airline industry and focusing on avionics. He enjoyed camping, bow hunting, and motorcycles. Most important to him was family.

Mr. Kidd is survived by his mother, Doris Jean Kidd, McDonough, Ga.; sisters, Deborah Anita Clark, Seymour, Tenn., Marilyn Whitaker, Hampton, Ga.; nieces, Amanda Clark, Seymour, Tenn., Angela (Rodney) Heaton, Penn.; nephews, Brent (Jessica) Clark, Knoxville, Tenn., and Brad Clark, Seymour, Tenn.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007 at McDonough Church of Christ with Ministers J.J. Turner and Jeff Wilder officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
