Dorothy H. Walton
Dorothy H. Walton, 73, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully the afternoon of Nov. 24, 2007, after a brave battle with cancer. Dot attended Swainsboro High School and was a 1952 graduate. She attended Florence State College and worked in Atlanta prior to marrying. Dot retired from the Clayton Count Board of Education, where she was a payroll clerk in the Food Services Department. She enjoyed caring for her flowers, bird wathcing, playing bridge, decorating her house for the holidays and spending time with friends and family. She was a friend to all and was loved beyond measure.
She is survived by her beloved children; daughters, Ann Walton-Bowe and husband, Mike, of Stockbridge, Jan Bradley and husband, Skip, of Houston, Texas; son, Trey Walton, of Jackson; her cherished grandchildren, Clay Walton, Nathan Bowe, Rebekah Bradley, Genoa Bowe, Rachel Bradley, Leah Bowe and Janna Bowe. She also leaves behind a sister, Florence Kavanaugh, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; nine nieces and nephewsand a host of wonderful friends. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Memorial services will held at Horis A. Ward's Tara Chapel Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 4p.m. The family will receive friends at 3 p.m., Wednesday, prior to the service. Interment will be Thursday, Nov. 29, at 1 p.m., at Zita Cemetery in Tennille, Ga. Horis A. Ward Tara Chapel, Jonesboro, in charge of arrangements, (770) 471-7171.
Thomas A. Haughton
Thomas A. Haughton, age 80, of Forest Park, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007.
The family is planning a Memorial Service and a private entombment.
He is survived by his wife, Goldie M. Haughton; two sons, Thomas Haughton and Duane Haughton; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
