Clayco Connections fund-raiser benefits children

Clayco Connections, hosted by Riverdale-based Community Reach, Inc., has given local children an opportunity to be models and fund-raisers, at the same time, for the last 10 years.

Clayco Connections will be held tonight at 7 p.m., at the Pointe South Middle School, 626 Flint River Road, Jonesboro. The cost to attend the event is $5 for adults, and $1.50 for children.

The annual event gives students an opportunity to model clothes borrowed from local stores, or to participate in a talent show. Clayco Connections is a fund-raiser for Community Reach, a non-profit organization that offers free tutoring, after school care, summer programs, and parenting workshops to Clayton County residents.

Some of the funds will also go to Pointe South Middle School, which is Community Reach's Partner in Education. The remainder of the money collected will be used to pay for expenses related to the event.

The gospel singing group, Batiste, will be the featured entertainment, in addition to the fashion and talent shows. Contact Rose Tate at (770) 603-9859, or Pointe South Middle School at (770) 473-2890, for more information about the event, or to get directions to the school.
