dsilliman@news-daily.com A pizza delivery driver was shot in the chest, after attempting to deliver a $57 order to a vacant house in College Park. Ahmad Abu-Dakr, a 20-year-old driver for Super Crown Pizza, was "just trying to make an honest living," Clayton County Police Sgt. Rebecca Brown said, when he drove to 5220 Brentwood Road at about 10 p.m. The house was vacant, and Abu-Dakr was met by two men. He was shot in the chest, near his shoulder, police said. Brown said the assailants were two black males, but there is "no description, no nothing." The men stole three large pizzas, an order of wings and a two-liter soft drink. They did not take any cash, Brown said. Abu-Dakr didn't have any cash, and they only took the food order, which they had apparently placed with the South Hampton Road pizza parlor in an attempt to lure a driver to them. After being shot, the 20-year-old got back into his car and tried to drive, Brown said. He drove around the corner to 1120 Shoreham Drive, and crashed the car into a shed. Abu-Dakr was transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition. Police have not yet been able to speak with the delivery driver. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Clayton County Police at (770) 473-5400.More like this story
