When things go wrong, don't blame God - James C. Bell

So many people actually blame God for all the bad things that happen to them. When accidents happen or acts of nature, such as hurricanes or tornadoes or floods, come their way, they ask, "Why did God let this happen to me?"

When heart attacks come, or cancer strikes, many say, "God must hate me to let this happen to me."

I have heard on the news some of the victims of Katrina asking, "What did I do to deserve this? Why did God let this happen?" Why would God cause innocent people to be killed by a "stoned" drug user, or a drunk driver?

The truth is, God does not cause things of this nature to happen. He knows they will take place and He allows them to happen, because He has given us the freedom to make choices, and we often make the wrong choices.

We may be victims of bad choices by others, such as drinking too much alcohol, or using drugs, and driving under the influence.

Acts of nature are sometimes called "acts of God" to allow insurance companies to deny coverage.

Not all things are good, but the Bible tells us in Romans 8:28, "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are called according to His purpose." This verse tells of God's blessings on His people -- those who love and serve Him.

What about those who ignore God and do not know Him in the true pardon of sin through Jesus Christ our Lord? Are they protected just like Christians?

Actually, the Bible teaches us God does not know these who do not believe in Him or His Son Jesus Christ. We find these words in Matthew 25: 41b, "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels."

Who are the cursed? Those who do not believe in God through His Son Jesus Christ. These are the people throughout the ages who have been fooled by the devil -- the greatest deceiver and liar in the world -- and have lived their lives just as they pleased ignoring God, His Son and His Holy Word, the book of truth, the Holy Bible.

Please stop listening to the devil, the evil one, who wants to destroy all those who follow Him. Instead, you must hear the Word of the Lord as He says to you, who do not belong to Him, have faith, believe in Jesus Christ, who laid down His life for you, that you might be saved.

Some may ask, "Where can I hear from God? Go to a Bible teaching Church next Sunday and listen to the sermon, then hear the call of God to believe and be saved from the devil and eternal hell.

You may also read in the Bible -- John 3:16 and hear the word of God telling you how to come to Him. In 1st John 3:23, we read, "And this is His command: to believe in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ and to love one another as He has commanded us." Verse 24 says, "Those who obey His commands live in Him, and He in them. And this is how we know that He lives in us: we know it by the Spirit He gives us."

God has provided the way for all mankind to live through belief in Jesus Christ. This life is filled with His love and He protects and provides for His own.

If you do not belong to God and do not know Him in the free pardon of sin, don't blame Him when things go wrong!

He loves us all and will forgive the truly repentant sinner. Then, He will bless you and lead you into the real fullness of life. You will love others and they will love you.

I pray you will make this most important decision soon and know the true love of God.
