Celebrating the life of Wilma Oliver Sampson
Wilma Oliver Sampson, age 58, was called home to be with our Lord on Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 after an extended illness. Mrs. Sampson was a loving wife and a devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, John Sampson of Jonesboro; son, Barrie Oliver and wife Roberta of Jonesboro; daughter, Elizabeth Curlee and husband Bruce of McDonough; daughter, Gina Floyd of Woodstock; her loving grandchildren, Kristina Oliver, Deven Curlee, Tabitha and Jillian Floyd. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Madison Floyd.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 at 5 p.m. with Pastor Susan Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. prior to the service at Horis A. Ward Funeral Home, Fairview Chapel, 376 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, GA 30281. (770) 474-1231.
James Arthur Bryan
James Arthur Bryan, age 80, of Morrow, Ga., died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007 at Southern Regional Medical Center in Riverdale. A native of Greene County he was born on April 19, 1927 to the late Lee Bryan and Lila Wood Bryan. He attended school in Penfield and married Mary Jewell Hunt in 1949. They continued to live in Greene County until 1957 where he worked for Union Manufacturing, a sock factory in Union Point. In 1957 he moved to Atlanta to work as a shipping clerk for Arrow Shirt Company Austell Distribution Center a division of Cluett Peabody and retired in 1993. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family and watching NASCAR racing. He was a member of Walker United Methodist Church and a member of Arrow's Twenty-five Year Club.
In addition to his wife, Mary Jewell Hunt Bryan, of Morrow, Ga., he is survived by a son, Daniel Bryan of Morrow, Ga.; and a number of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother Willie Bryan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at 2 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with the Rev. Alan Parker officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Daniel Bryan, Darrell Hunt, Barry Scoggins, Jeremy Bryan, Haywood Hunt and Allen Bryan. The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Sandra Benton Warr
Sandra Benton Warr of Morrow, Ga., passed away Sept. 2, 2007 at her residence.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy and Robert Howell of Griffin, Ga.; son, Kenneth and Diana Pitts of Downingtown, Pa.; four grandchildren, KaLee and Sara Howell and Rachel and Lee Pitts; sister, Dee Dee Colwell of Stockbridge.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, 11:30 a.m. at Brooks Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the chapel.

Rachel M. Rainwater
Rachel M. Rainwater, of Rex, Ga., passed away Sept. 5, 2007 at Laurel Park. Mrs. Rainwater was co-owner of Rainwater's General Merchandise Store in Rex, Ga.
Survivors include her son, Floyd and Hazel Rainwater of McDonough, Ga.; grandchildren, Connie and Donnie Warr of McDonough, Ga., Glen Rainwater of Rex, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Kim Warr of Charlotte, N.C., Brian and Jennie Warr of Covington, Ga., great-great-grandson, Eli Warr.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at 2 p.m. at the Rock Baptist Church. She will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. The Rev. Don Bazel and the Rev. Paul Aday will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p. on Friday. Interment at the Rock Cemetery.
