Mr. Robbie Hancock Dec. 8, 1950 - Sept. 6, 2007

Mr. Charles Robert "Robbie" Hancock Jr., age 56, of Griffin, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007.

Mr. Hancock was born on Dec. 8, 1950 in Spalding County to the late Charles Robert Hancock Sr. He is also preceded in death by step-father, Johnny Eady. Mr. Hancock was a 1969 graduate of Griffin High School. He attended Clayton Junior College and graduated from Georgia Police Academy and the Georgia Chief's Academy. Working a total of 33 years in law enforcement, Mr. Hancock formerly worked for the Hampton Police Department for 23 years; 11 of those 23 years were served as police chief. Following his retirement, Mr. Hancock worked for the Henry County Sheriff's Department for 10 years. In 1974, he was Henry County Policeman of the year. Mr. Hancock was a former Mason, former member of the Potatoe Creek Bass Masters, an avid fishermen and member of the Midway United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Stinchcomb Hancock; daughter and her companion, Angela Cayce and Brad Wilson; grandchildren, Charlie Hughes and Adam Hughes; daughter and son-in-law, Jodie and Chris Culver; grandchildren, Haiden Culver and Kathryn Culver; mother, Bettie Joe Killingsworth Eady; brother and sister-in-law, Jonathan and Linda Eady; nephews, John Eady and Ben Eady; adopted family, Mike and Bonnie McNutt and daughters, Sarah and Katherine McNutt; several aunts, uncles, in-laws and cousins.

Funeral services for Robbie Hancock will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Killingsworth will officiate. Interment will follow in Midway United Methodist church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 135 B Bradford Square, Fayetteville, GA 30215 or to the American Diabetes Association, 1707 North Beauregard St. Alexandria, VA. 22311 or to a charity of your choice, in memory of Mr. Hancock.

Randy Wallace

Randy Wallace, age 52, of Stockbridge, Ga. passed away on Sept. 4, 2007. He was born on March 8, 1955 to Hubert and Jessi Wallace. Preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Jessi Wallace, survived by his wife of 30 years, Tammy Wallace; their three children, Jeremiah, 22, Charlie ,19, and Terra, 13; mother -in-law, Patricia A. Coker; brothers, Kenny Wallace of Flovilla and Mike and Alice Wallace of Jackson Lake; brother-in-law, Curt and Karen Coker of California; his sisters-in-law, Debbie and Joel Davis of Stockbridge, Terry Patty of Stockbridge, Sandy Reagan of McDonough, Traci and Ben Folsom of Stockbridge; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was an outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish with his children and friends. A master of backyard BBQs and family gatherings.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at Swan Lake Community Center on Sunday, Sept. 16 at 3 p.m. with food and fellowship to follow. Ken Davidson of Crossroads Christian Church will officiate.

Robert D. Patterson

Robert D. Patterson, age 77, passed away Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 at his home in Forest Park, Ga. Robert retired from General Motors-Lakewood with 32 years of service. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Patterson, who passed away in May of 2005.

He is survived by his son, Andrew Patterson of Forest Park; daughter, Angela and Rodney E. Pruet of Pinson, Ala.; grandchildren, Scott and Adam Tyson of Cullman, Ala.; sister, Jean Whitcomb of California; brothers, Arthuer Patterson of Lynette, Ala., Pate Patterson of California; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, 2007 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Ga. Family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. at Ward's Parkway Chapel. Horis A. Ward Parkway Chapel is in charge of arrangements. (404) 366-3522.

Evelyn Blissitt Wade

Evelyn Blissitt Wade of Stockbridge, died Sept. 2, 2007.

Survivors include her son, Terry Bradshaw, Stockbridge; sister, Rebecca Hood, Albany; many nieces and nephews and her unofficial adopted family; Susan Derek and Daniel.

Mrs. Connie Johnson July 24, 1942 - Sept. 7, 2007

Mrs. Mary Constance (Connie) Johnson, age 65, of Griffin, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away on Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 at Spalding Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Vermillion, S.D., on July 24, 1942 to the late Michael W. O'Connor and the late Aileen Ryan O'Connor. She was preceded in death by brother, Donald O'Connor. Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church of Jonesboro. She was one of the co-founders of the South Clayton Athletic Association. Mrs. Johnson was very active in youth activities. She was a devout Catholic, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all.

Survivors include husband, Herman Johnson; children, Michael F. Johnson of Pensacola, Fla., Michelle Johnson Hendrick of Thomaston, Mark Johnson of New Orleans, Mary Johnson Hoy of Covington; six grandchildren; brothers, Michael, William and Harry O'Connor, all of South Dakota; sisters, Peggy Donnelly of South Dakota, Audrey Harris and Judy Satiroff, both of Nebraska; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass for Mrs. Mary Connie Johnson will be conducted on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007 at 11 a.m. in St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 591 Flint River Road, Jonesboro. Interment will follow in Upson Memory Gardens in Thomaston. Friends may visit the family Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
