Margaret L. Mapp
April 20, 1925-March 30, 2008
Margaret L. Mapp, a devoted wife of 52 years, loving mother of four daughters, endeared grandmother and great-grandmother and faithful friend to many, passed away in peace Sunday in her Henry County home.
She was always known as Granny, loving and caring for any who came to her door. She was born April 20, 1925 in Lake City, Fla., the daughter of Edna McGregor and Harry Colter. She retired as a merchandise handler at Eckerds, and was a World War II wife, a part-time florist, a collector of fine figurines, and loved to gather together and view family photographs, but was mainly the proud wife of a truck driver and spent the latter years of her life happily dedicated to being a loving housewife, spending as much time as she could with her children and grandchildren.
Aside from raising her three daughters, Mrs. Mapp and her husband raised three grandsons and helped to raise and care for her other grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her daughter, Pat Jackson; grandson, Chris Duffy; sister, Deloris Rusher, and brother, Shorty McGregor.
She is survived by her husband, George Mapp; sisters, Gene Mapp and Doris Sexton; daughters, Sharon Braley, Debra Morgan, Mary Anne Lawson and Kathy Hardigree; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
