Jonesboro Police are looking for a man seen shopping in Family Dollar last week.
At about 2:45 p.m., on Saturday, March 29, a tall, thin black man pushed a shopping cart into the store on Tara Boulevard. He made a small purchase, police said, and then robbed the store, sticking up the cashier with a sawed-off shotgun. The cashier dropped something, the police department's detectives' said, and bent down to pick it up. When she looked up, she saw the mysterious shopper pointing a shotgun at her face, according to police. The man apparently pulled the gun out of a bag he carried with him. The man took the money from the register and left the store. Police did not say how much money he took in the stick-up. He has not yet been identified, but police have released still shots from security camera photos in hopes someone could name him. The man can be clearly seen in the photos. He is wearing a tan jacket, sunglasses and a baseball cap. The Saturday shopper is facing armed robbery and multiple weapons charges. Jonesboro Police Department detectives suspect he could also be connected to other armed robberies in the area. Anyone with information about the man is asked to call Detective Vickey Wright at (678) 479-1825 or Detective Tim Jessup at (770) 478-7407. - Daniel SillimanMore like this story
