Jim Cowart

Jim Cowart, 83, of Stockbridge, died Friday, April 25, 2008. He was born in Edison, Ga., to the late Amaziah Pilcher and Alice Eudora Webb Cowart. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Jarman Cowart, and siblings, J.P., Mary, Susie Mae, and Charles Cowart.

Mr. Cowart was a Navy pilot during WWII and retired after 32 years with Delta Airlines as a flight instructor. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Tabernacle, a member of Stockbridge Masonic Lodge #691, and a Shriner. He is survived by his wife, Clarine Lee Cowart, Stockbridge; sons, Eric P. Cowart, Conyers, James S. Cowart, Virginia Beach, Va., Jack R. Cowart, Stockbridge; daughter, Brenda G. Solomon, Corpus Cristi, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11a.m., Monday, April 28, at The Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors, with Rev. Glenn Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 27, from 2 to 5 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Mark Franklin Haynes

Mr. Mark Franklin Haynes, 31, of McDonough, passed away April 23, 2008 in Natchez, Miss.

Mr. Haynes was born in Fulton County, the son of Jack Franklin Haynes and the late Viola Mae Dumas McCollum.

He was a devoted family man, who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was employed by Black and Veatch, Overland Contracting of Conyers, Ga.He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. Survivors are his wife of 12 years, Regina Haynes, of McDonough; children, Brittany and Summer Haynes, of McDonough; father, Jack Haynes, of Knoxville; step-father, William H. ( Pete) McCollum, of West Green, Ga.; brothers, Michael Haynes, of McDonough, Jack, Bryan, Shawn, Aaron and Tim Haynes, of Knoxville; sister, Angel Kunert, of Knoxville.

Funeral services for Mr. Haynes will be Tuesday, April 29, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Rickner officiating.
