Margaret Lillian Rossman Delk
Early in the morning of Sunday, July 13, 2008, just one day past her 80th birthday, Margaret Lillian Rossman Delk left this world for her permanent one in heaven.
Ms. Delk was born to Adolphus and Lois Rossman on July 12,1928, in Mechanicsville, Pa. Soon after her birth, her family moved to Atlanta where she made her home.
Ms. Delk was one of the earliest female members of the U.S. Air Force. She served as a member of the Women's Air Corps and was stationed at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida. She was retired from the Peat Marwick Accounting Firm in 1993.
Skilled in the arts, Ms. Delk enjoyed painting, the piano, theater and dance. She served as a docent for the Atlanta Zoo and volunteered at Fayette Community Hospital. She was a past member of the Doris Russell Senior Dance Troupe.
Baptized at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atlanta, she was a member of Christ our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City, where she served as an usher and a worship leader.
She is survived by her brothers, Phillip Rossman, of Tullahoma, Tenn., and Carl Rossman, of Chino, Calif.; her children, Melody Koppe, Trina Heath, Wendy Sheffield, Melissa and Paul Markle, Jimmy and Marsha Delk, Mike and Alison Zuback; grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan, Samantha, Wes, Zack, Jessica, Adam, Megan, Matthew, Corey and McKenzie; great-grandchildren, John, Andi, Landon, Addison, Mary Paul and Kaori, as well as a dear sister-in-law, Sue, and many precious nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, at Christ our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City, at 11a.m. Parrott Funeral Home, Fairburn, (770) 964-4800.
