Tomato Sandwich Party to benefit Good Shepherd Clinic

The sixth annual Tomato Sandwich Party benefit to support the Good Shepherd Clinic in Morrow will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 5-7:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Morrow. There will be live entertainment, tours of the clinic from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and, of course, the tomato sandwiches made famous by the Wood family. All proceeds will benefit the Good Shepherd Clinic, which is supported solely by donations and volunteers. The clinic is presently accepting donations and looking for sponsors. Aug. 3

Jonesboro First United Methodist Church will host a School Prayer Vigil on Sunday, Aug. 3, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. People may stop by anytime between those two hours to pray. Midway Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2280 Godby Road in College Park, is celebrating a Kick-Off Worship Service in honor of the 47th annual session of the Progressive National Baptist Convention held in Atlanta, Aug. 3-8.
