Betty Mae Asbell
Mrs. Betty Mae Asbell, of Hampton, passed away Aug. 10, 2008 at the age of 80. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, at 11 a.m., at Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, with interment to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Pastor Roy Mack will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Asbell is survived by her daughter, Beth and Scott Spratling, of Stockbridge; Sherry Davis, of Stockbridge; son, Mark and Ethel Harris, of McDonough; sister, Gloria Coleman, of Hiawassee; brothers, Paul Duffey, of Rex, Roy Dufffey, of Newnan, Wade Duffey, of Ellenwood; grandchildren, Jessica James, Tracey Finch, Scott Spratling, Jerry Warren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Thomas L. Scroggs Funeral Directors, Morrow in charge of arrangements, (770) 961-2828. W. Rudolph Johnson Mr. W. Rudolph Johnson, of Lake City, passed away Aug. 12, 2008. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at Sherwood Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Pastor Carl Green and Dr. Reed Crumbliss will officiate. Family will receive friends Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m. Mr. Johnson was a former state representative, a member of Clayton Coounty Development Authority and Peace Officers Annuities. He was retired Director of Employees Retirement Services. Rudolph is survived by his faithful wife of 58 years, Ellen Johnson; sons, Mike and Rae Johnson; Greg and Joann Johnson; Brad Johnson; daughter, Kim and Terry Norton; sister Evelyn Niland; brothers Hugh Johnson and Raymond Johnson; 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
