Thanks for the big change

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the voters of Clayton County for the awesome job they did in the primary and run-off elections.

It is with much gratitude that I applaud each and every voter who took the time out of their busy schedules to go to the polls and vote. It is such a privilege to live in a country where government can be changed so quickly through the electoral process. We are truly blessed.

Clayton County is going to be a much better place to live, work and play, beginning Jan. 1, 2009. Hopefully, property values will begin to increase and we can stop the flow of businesses out of Clayton County.

I urge all elected officials to take the time to thank all of their supporters, who worked so hard to make this possible. Also, I would urge all candidates, who were allowed to place their political signs at businesses, to patronize these businesses as much as possible. Some did so at the risk of alienating some of their customers.

Again, thanks to each and every voter who voted, and don't forget that on Nov. 4, some of these candidates will have opposition. It seems that at least one of the officials who won his primary seems to think he is already elected. That is not the case since he is facing a very strong Republican in November. Arrogance in office is not appreciated by the citizens.
