Pets of the Week - Aug. 28, 2008

Precious little Eve is domestic shorthair, braided tabby. She is a little over a year old, and she has been spayed and fully vaccinated. Eve became a member of the CCHS family when someone decided to use the shelter's fenced-in yard as a "night deposit drop". The 13 foot fence is topped with barbed wire which could easily have ended little Eve's life. She has certainly proved that she is a tough little survivor, in the truest sense of the word! This adorable little lady has a great, outgoing personality. She gets along well with everyone, including the many other cats at the CCHS shelter. Spencer is 5 year old, Jack Russell/Beagle mix. He has been neutered and all vaccinations are current. Spencer was dumped by some uncaring person, in the parking lot of the CCHS shelter. Spencer is not a typical Jack Russell; he is not at all a "hyper" dog with some of the somewhat "nutty" behavior often thought of when discussing a Jack Russell. Spencer is actually very much a quiet, reserved little guy. He has something of a "couch potato" type personality. He loves people, and really enjoys the one-on-one attention when volunteers visit with him at the CCHS facility. Another big plus is that he appears to be housebroken. Poor Spencer has been at the CCHS shelter for almost 2 years, and the staff has begun to notice signs of what appears to be some "doggie depression" setting in. This great little guy needs to be at home, sitting in someone's lap.....not sadly looking through wire fencing as the years continue to pass him by.
