Betty Woodward

Mrs. Betty Woodward, 79, of Jonesboro, passed away, Friday, Aug. 29, 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, and was a choir member for more than 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Woodward.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Preston Hicks, of Jonesboro; grandchild, Valorie McDonald, and her spouse, Christopher, of Mableton; two great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held, Sunday, Aug. 31, at 3 p.m., at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro Worship Center. Dr. Charles Q. Carter will officiate. Interment will be at Jonesboro City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Saturday, Aug. 30, 5-7 p.m., at the funeral home. Virginia Jo Miller

Mrs. Virginia Jo Miller, of Fayetteville, Ga., passed away Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008. She was born March 15, 1927 in Harrison, Tenn.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband, W. E. Miller, of Fayetteville; daughters, Carol and Henry Drennan, of Williamson, Ga.; Gail and Dennis Casey, of Fayetteville; Sharon Sagon, of Hampton; Lynn and Pete Eubanks, of McDonough; Janet Denise Miller, of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Karen, Paul, Julie, Jamie, Gair, Ashley, Allison, and Amber; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Margaret Brown, of Tunnel Hill, Ga.; many nieces and nephews, and her faithful cat, Little Tom.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Raymond Sagon. Mrs. Miller enjoyed traveling, making flower arrangements and jewelry. She collected cookie jars, teapots, and clocks.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 31, at 2 p.m., at Community Missionary Baptist Church, with Brother E. C. Chatham, Brother Tony St. Cyr and Brother L. C. Spivey officiating.
