How does your life measure up? - James C. Bell

Are you living the life God intended for you?

He made our amazing bodies to be capable of great things, our minds have a potential of excellence, and we have the power to reason and analyze the world around us.

He meant for us to understand and communicate with each other, and gave us the capacity to love one another. We not only have mental and physical abilities, but we are endowed with spiritual capacities. We have a living soul, a capacity and a longing to both, know and be with, our Creator.

He knows us individually and loves each one of us. He has a plan of life for us and tells us in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Our God is great and mighty, there is none like Him! Our soul longs to worship Him and to give Him glory and honor.

He loved us so much that He sent His only Son to teach us and to lay down His life as a sacrifice for us, so we might have forgiveness of our sins. All He requires of us is faith in Him and in His Son, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8 and 9 tells us, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast."

Now, read the 10th verse-"For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

These verses tell us God loves us-by grace we are saved but only through faith-it is not anything we have accomplished or earned. No, it is the gift of God!

He has provided the plan for our lives-we must have faith in Jesus Christ-we must choose Jesus and repent of our sins. Then and only then, are we His children-saved from our sins and able to live the life He has intended for us.

We must live for Him; we must be loyal followers of the teachings of Jesus Christ, study His Word and pray for guidance and forgiveness.

There are many in this world who do not know God or even believe in Him. I spoke to a lady and two men just last week, and I asked them what they would say to God if He were to ask them, "Why should I let you into my heaven?"

I admit this is a very tough question and most do not know the correct answer. Both men said they did not have an idea of what to say. The lady said, "I am an avowed atheist." She did not believe in God and did not want to discuss the subject. Frankly, I didn't want to either. I said, "There is no such thing as an atheist."

She excused herself and left. Both of the men prayed to God for the forgiveness of their sins and received Jesus Christ as their Savior. Amen!

We cannot begin to measure up to the standards of God until we repent of our sins and receive His forgiveness. Then, we belong to the family of God and He has plans for us, work for us to do. Our first job is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our mind and with all our soul, and then we must love our neighbor as ourselves.

Then Jesus tells us we must all be witnesses for Him, we must tell others our testimony of how we were saved and completely forgiven of our sins through Jesus Christ. What a great job!

We are to witness for the Lord about what He has done for us and lead others to Him to be saved themselves. It is a job that pays great dividends and we collect them in heaven.

If you are not a Christian, I pray you will soon hear the witness of how Christ loves you and wants to save your life. You are invited to be a brother/sister of Jesus Christ and son/daughter of God.

Please make the right choice-I want to see you in Glory!
