Pets of the Week - Feb. 7, 2008

Aubrey is a 2 and a half year old, solid white Angora/Maine Coon mix.  She has been spayed and all vaccinations are current.  This gorgeous animal was thoughtlessly tossed from a car window, on a dirt road.  Luckily, a CCHS staff person witnessed the crime, and quickly rescued the poor cat.  Unfortunately, the abusers got away.   Since her rescue, Aubrey has been a resident at the CCHS shelter.  She is a very sweet little girl, but is somewhat fearful of the many other cats living at the shelter, so Aubrey spends most of her time in a small cage.  Anyone wishing to offer Aubrey a life outside of a cage should call Robin at 770/478-7531.  Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.

Bonz is an 8 and a half year old Pharaoh Hound/Boxer mix.  He has been neutered and all vaccinations are current.  Rescued back in 2000, Bonz has now been at CCHS for nearly 8 years!  Poor Bonz was a victim of severe neglect, which landed him in Animal Control.  Weighing only 14 pounds, it was doubtful if Bonz could survive.  Once discovered by CCHS, Bonz came to the shelter to begin his long recovery to good health.  He was so terribly fragile in the beginning that he had to be carried around on a pillow to avoid further injury or pain.  He is still very shy and frightened of strangers, but to those who he has gotten to know, he proves to be a very sweet, loving dog.  He has a clear preference for women, but he has warmed up to several men who took the time to gain his trust.  Bonz should not go his entire life without ever knowing the joy and comfort of a real home and family.  If you would like to give this very special boy a chance, please call Robin at 770/478-7531.  Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.
