Martha Faye Shearer, 67, of Lovejoy, died Jan. 16. A graveside service will be held Monday, Jan. 21, 11 a.m., at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening 4-8 p.m.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillon O. Shearer; son, David Shearer; father, Charles W. Smith; mother, Arline Smith. She is survived by her companion of 25 years, James (Butch) Sams; sons, Charles Shearer and James and Susan Shearer; sister, Marilyn Sams; brothers, Charles Smith, Jr., and James Smith; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Melvin "John" Cochran

Melvin "John" Cochran, 73, of Jackson's Gap, Ala., died Thursay, Jan. 17.

Traditional services are scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m., at Pope Dickson & Son Funeral Home - Jonesboro Chapel, with Pastor Joe Arthur officiating. The family will receive friends at Pope Dickson & Son Funeral Home - Jonesboro Chapel on Saturday, Jan. 19, 4-8 p.m.

Ruby Elizabeth Key Snow

Ruby Elizabeth Key Snow, 88, of McDonough, died Jan. 18, at Westbury Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Snow was born in Gwinnett County to the late Nathan C. Key and Mary Lou Barrett Key. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charlie D. Snow, Sr. She was a homemaker. She was a godly mother, a fabulous cook and enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her children, Anne and Hugh Tisinger, of McDonough, Lillie and Wayne Brooks, of McDonough, Mildred and Ellis Parks, of Albany, Frances Brigman, of Atlanta, Charlie and Sandra Snow, Jr., of Stockbridge, and Marty Wiggins, of Hampton; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 20, 2:30 p.m., from the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Clarence Cates, the Rev. Jeff Clark, Rev. David Clark and the Rev. James West officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family Saturday 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
