Tara is a one and a half year old Shepherd mix.  She has been spayed and all vaccinations are current.  Tara was hit by a car and then taken to Animal Control.  She was seriously injured and Animal Control could not offer her any veterinary care.  Clayton County Humane was contacted and asked to help this special girl.  Veterinary care was sought immediately, and efforts were made to save her leg, but it could not be saved.  Tara's leg was amputated, but she has fully recovered and seems to suffer no ill effects from the surgery.  She is active and playful, and does just as well as any  other dog with four legs.  She is loving and friendly, and does well with people.  She does not like other dogs, so she should likely be an "only pet".  For more information, please call Clayton County Humane Society at 770/471-9436.  Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.
Mac is a one and a half year old Egyptian Mau mix.  This gorgeous boy has black and gray tabby markings, and the long, sleek body which is so common to a Mau cat.  He has been neutered and all vaccinations are current.  Mac's mom was pregnant when she was found at Animal Control.  She was rescued by Clayton County Humane and allowed to deliver her babies.  Mac is the only one left at the CCHS shelter, and that is a true mystery, as Mac was the most personable and outgoing of the entire litter.  Visitors to the CCHS cat room are immediately greeted by Mac, and it's almost as if he knows that he needs to impress.  He gets along well with everyone, and he's friendly with all the other cats at the CCHS shelter.  Anyone interested in a truly wonderful cat, should call Robin at 770/478-7531.  Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see other animals available for adoption.
