July 19

The New Birth South Community Impact Center, located at 3000 Corporate Center Drive, Suite 265 in Morrow, will host a series of events in July focused on improving individuals. On Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m., to 5 p.m., the center will host an Anger Management Seminar, where people with anger issues can learn how to identify the source and deal with stress and anger effectively. There is a $25 fee for an anger assessment and a $75 fee for the class. Also on Saturday, the center will conduct Evangelism Training, where ministers-in-training can learn about effective witnessing and winning souls for Christ. Pre-registration is required. Debbie Williams will host "Let's Praise the Lord, Let's Just Dance," a dance performance, at the Church of Harvest on Saturday, July 19, at 4 p.m. The proceeds will benefit Atlanta Alliance on Developmental Disabilities (AADD) and help build communities of support, acceptance, and opportunity for children, adults, and families living with developmental disabilities. The sixth annual Tomato Sandwich Party benefit to support the Good Shepherd Clinic in Morrow will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 5-7:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Morrow. There will be live entertainment, tours of the clinic from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and, of course, the tomato sandwiches made famous by the Wood family. All proceeds will benefit the Good Shepherd Clinic, which is supported solely by donations and volunteers. The clinic is presently accepting donations and looking for sponsors. Liberty Baptist Church in Riverdale is looking for men and women interested in participating with other churches throughout Georgia in witnessing to people in our jails and prisons. Beginning Wednesday, June 18, and for the next five weeks, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, located at 377 Valley Hill Road in Riverdale, will host an Intergenerational Vacation Bible School.
