The 2008 CampMeeting, with the theme "Positioning Yourself for Fresh Wind," will be held from Sunday, July 27, through Wednesday, July 30 at Divine Faith Ministries International South Campus, at 9800 Tara Blvd., in Jonesboro.

The four days of events include talks or performances by Dottie Peoples, Bishop Neil Ellis, Pastor Donald Battle, Ms. Darlene McCoy, Pastor Marvin Sapp, Co-Pastor Gwen Battle, Pastor Rod Parsley, and others, with events scheduled mornings and evenings. Aug. 2

The sixth annual Tomato Sandwich Party benefit to support the Good Shepherd Clinic in Morrow will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 5-7:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Morrow. There will be live entertainment, tours of the clinic from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and, of course, the tomato sandwiches made famous by the Wood family. All proceeds will benefit the Good Shepherd Clinic, which is supported solely by donations and volunteers. The clinic is presently accepting donations and looking for sponsors. School-age children and their parents are encouraged to attend the community-wide "Back to School Block Party," hosted by Community Bible Church, located at 2001 Jodeco Road in Stockbridge. The event will take place Saturday, Aug. 9, from 2-6 p.m. Children and parents alike can spend a relaxing afternoon preparing for the new school year while enjoying live entertainment, crafts, inflatables, and information kiosks from various family-friendly businesses.
