Ross Earl Cook

Ross Earl Cook, 74, of Jonesboro, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 18, 2008, in Stockbridge. He was born in Knox County, Ind., on July 21, 1933, to the late Emmett Earl Cook and Virginia Brown Cook,of Knox County.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Falkenbury Cook; two daughters, Christine Cook, of Union City, Ga., and Cynthia Cook Becraft, of Newport News, Va.; one grandson; two granddaughters; one brother, C. Dale Cook of Union City.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Aaron S. Cook and Byron L. Cook, both of Ohio.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, at 11a.m., at Covenant Presbyterian Church (PCA), Fayetteville, Ga., 30214, (770) 460-9450.

After being a tissue donor, Ross' body was cremated. His ashes will be interred at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to either of the following: NTAF Southeast Spinal Cord Injury Fund for Lynn Wheeler, in memory of Ross Cook, or National Foundation for Transplants for Georgia Kidney Fund, in memory of Ross Cook. Betty Kemp Tarpley

Betty Kemp Tarpley, of Stockbridge, passed away July 24, 2008.

Survivors include her daughter, Diane and Joey Goodroe, of Alpharetta; daughter-in-law, Nina Adair; grandchildren, Anna, Hunter, Seth, Katelyn, James, Andrew, John Michael and Grace.

Mrs. Tarpley was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Tarpley, and son, Joel Tarpley. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 27, at 2 p.m., at the Jonesboro First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Charles Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday, July 26, 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the funeral home.
