Charles E. Sheats

Mr. Charles E. Sheats, 73, of Locust Grove, formerly of Clayton County, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2008 at his residence.

Mr. Sheats was born Nov. 30, 1934 in Atlanta, son of the late James Sheats and the late Florence Fecter Sheats. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Sheats.

Survivors include his wife, Della Sheats; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Karen King Sheats; Tommy and Tonya Sheats, all of Locust Grove; daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Howard Brandon, of Walnut Grove; Shirley and Milton Weakley, of Griffin; Shannon and Randy Robison, of Concord; 4 granddaughters; 3 grandsons; 1 great-granddaughter and 1 great-grandson.

A private memorial service was held Thursday, May 29.

Robert C. Milligan

Robert C. Milligan, 89, of McDonough, died Monday, June 2, 2008. He was born in New York City, to the late Harold Vincent and Lucy Richardson Milligan. Mr. Milligan was also preceded in death by his wife, Jane Meyer Milligan.

He was a Captain with the U.S. Public Health Services and served our country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Medical Corp during WWII. His career was in public health, including several assignments for the World Health Organization. He had a passion for gardening most of his life.

Mr. Milligan is survived by his daughters, Delores (William) Watts, of Stockbridge, Dorri Melvin, of Houston, Texas, and Holly Pitchell, of San Diego, Calif.; and 2 grandchildren.
