jjackson@henryherald.com The Clean Air Campaign is working with the region's nine transportation management associations and RideSmart on the Ninth Annual PACE Awards. The campaign - an area not-for-profit organization that works with employers, commuters, and schools across the state to encourage commute conservation that results in less traffic congestion and better air quality - is now accepting applications for the ninth annual PACE Awards. The PACE Awards recognize metro Atlanta's "best workplaces for commuters." Employers, property management companies, and individuals in counties throughout the region, including Henry County, are honored for their consistent promotion of commute alternatives. In 2007, more than 500 business and community leaders attended the luncheon. The 2008 PACE Awards sponsors are The Atlanta Business Chronicle and WABE 90.1 FM. Award entry forms are available at The Clean Air Campaign's web site, or by calling 1-877-CLEANAIR (1-877-253-2624). The PACE Awards are offered in five categories: small business, medium business, large business, public sector (government), and a property management company. Six additional awards recognize individual contributions and unique employer successes. Winners will be announced at the 2008 PACE Awards luncheon, which will be held on Oct. 16 at the Georgia Aquarium. The deadline for all submissions is Aug. 27.
