Mary Louise "Cookie" Simmons Crews
Mrs. Mary Louise "Cookie" Simmons Crews, of Jonesboro, Ga., and formerly of Geneva, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008 in Stockridge. She was 60.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 14, at Maple Avenue Baptist Church, with Dr. Mike Shirah officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted, and donations may be made to all Breast Cancer Charities.
Cookie was born April 5, 1948, to the late Williamson Boswell "Bob" and Lillian Truitt Simmons. She was a member of the Class of 1966 of Geneva High School and the Class of 1970 of Auburn University. She worked as a successful accountant with several corporations and organizations in Atlanta. When she was not working, she loved to travel to all parts of the world. She enjoyed shopping and especially enjoyed everything about Christmas.
Cookie was always positive, energetic, loved to laugh, and enjoyed being with her many friends and family.She fought a long battle with breast cancer and never let it get her down.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Lee Crews, of Jonesboro; her two daughters, Candice Patrice Dickerson (Noel); and Lillian Roxanne Russell (Adarsh), of Atlanta; three grandsons, Jake, Payton and Tyler; one granddaughter, Jaya Mary; one brother, William Boswell Simmons (Janie), of Geneva; and one sister; Nancy Jean Bull (Bob), of Tallahassee, Fla. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
