Frances Allen Fannin

Frances Allen Fannin, age 76, of McDonough, Ga. passed away peacefully on Friday June 13, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. Frances was born in Covington, the daughter of Lollie Avery Allen and Will (W.J.) Allen and was one of three children. She was married for 46 years to Rogers Fannin who preceded her in death in 2002. Also preceding her in death were her brother Willie Clifford Allen in 1992 and seven half-brothers and sisters - Bessie Cawthon, Essie Watts, Nina Moore, Gertrude Rosser, Emmett, Linzy and Herman Allen. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Mary Smith Alessandri and Al Alessandri of McDonough; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and God daughter Leigh De Lozier, and her dear friend, Thurman Rivers.

Frances retired from Southern Bell (Bell South) after a 30-year career. She re-entered the workforce and worked for a number of years at Piedmont Moulding and subsequently, Sporty Lady, in Conyers. She was an active and dedicated member of Timberridge Presbyterian Church for 47 years. She was a loving "mother" to her family and to all children with whom she came into contact. She loved her flowers and doing for others.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008 at Timberridge Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matt Allison and Rev. Keith Keller officiating. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. The interment will be at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Timberridge Presbyterian Church, 2704 Conyers Road, McDonough, Ga. 30252 or Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, Ga. 30253. Mr. Paul Ralph Christian

Mr. Paul Ralph Christian, age 83 of Eatonton, formerly of McDonough passed away June 13, 2008. Ralph was born in Habersham County, Ga. to the late John Ralph and Julia Ivie Christian. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Carolyn Parks Christian. He retired as a mechanic from Boomershine Pontiac and was a member of the McDonough Christian Church. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Survivors include daughters, Sandy (Darryl) Brooks of Fayetteville, Cathy (Tina Alvarez) Christian of Eatonton; grandchildren, Kyle Brooks and Carrie (Kevin) Love; great grandson, Jackson Love. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Leslie will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Friends visited the family Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Duane R. Bryant

Mr. Duane R. Bryant, age 67 of Griffin passed away June 13, 2008 at his residence. He was born in Jacksonville, Ala. to the late John Renfroe and Annie Lou Wynn Bryant and was preceded in death by a brother, Ernie Ray Bryant. He retired from Boral Brick Company and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stockbridge. He was past President and Umpire with Little League baseball in Henry County; enjoyed mechanical tinkering and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Pat Bryant of Griffin; son and daughter in law, Alan Duane (Lisa) Bryant of Griffin; grandchildren, Makenzie Danielle Bryant and Jacob Dalton Bryant; sisters, Faye (Billy) Ferguson of Ohatchee, Ala., Arlene (Gene) Smith of Wellington, Ala.; brothers, Johnny (Juanita) Bryant of Wellington, Ala., Charles (Carolyn) Bryant of Jacksonville, Ala., Donald (Linda) Bryant of Jacksonville, Ala., Mickey (Cathy) Bryant of Anniston, Ala.; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 16, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Ferguson will officiate. Interment will follow at Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery in Conyers, Ga. Friends visited the family Sunday evening from 6 -8 p.m. at the funeral home. Marian "Cookie" Tomlinson

Marian "Cookie" Tomlinson, age 81, of Stockbridge, Ga. died Friday, June 13, 2008. She was born in Sandersville, Ga. to the late Carroll and Sarah McMilliam Cook. She and her husband were members of the First Baptist Church, Stockbridge since 1968. She taught at Stockbridge Junior High until 1975, volunteered with the American Cancer Society and Henry County Meals On Wheels, member of the Stockbridge Garden Club, and the Young At Heart group at her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Lyman Tomlinson and her brother, Herman Benton Cook.

"Cookie" is survived by daughters, Gail & Fred Haney, Sherry Poirier, both of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Lindy Donahue and Kyle Haney; sister, Carolyn & Delbert Wilkes, Brunswick, Ga.; sister-in-law, Pat Waguespack, McDonough; several nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at First Baptist Church, Stockbridge with Rev. Steve Murell, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens.
