Robert Milton Durden
Robert Milton Durden, 73, of Morrow, a machinist for more than 40 years, died June 22, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Irene Durden; daughter, Cecelia Durden Wynn; sons, Jeffrey Lawrence Durden, Wayne Durden; 2 brothers, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Mr. Durden was an avid sportsman, who enjoyed softball, karate, fishing, hunting, and Nascar. His favorite driver was Bill Elliot.
The funeral service will be in the Jonesboro Chapel of Pope Dickson & Son at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 25. Interment will follow in Corinth Christian Churchyard in Loganville. Joanne Buntyn Wilson
Mrs. Joanne Buntyn Wilson, 73, of Locust Grove, passed away June 21, 2008.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Spalding County, the daughter of the late Thelma Grace Wright and Joseph Franklin Buntyn. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed her family, friends, shopping, traveling, and Elvis.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Griffin and attended Locust Grove United Methodist Church. Survivors are her husband, George Wilson, of Locust Grove; children, Jeff Snelling, Cathy Snelling, of Griffin, Shannon Shrewsbury (Richard), of Douglasville; stepchildren, Steve Wilson, of McDonough, Dan Wilson (Kathy), of Conyers, Betty Ochs (Howard), of Rye Brook, N.Y., and Ann Bass (James), of Locust Grove; 16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Peggy Merritt (Bill), of Griffin; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Wilson will be Tuesday, June 24, at 11a.m., at the Locust Grove United Methodist Church, with Rev. Doug Gilreath and Rev. Dan Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
