Patriotic Jamboree at First Baptist of Jonesboro

June 27-29

First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro will be hosting the houseparents and children from Thornwell Home for Children in Clinton, S.C. There will be fun, fellowship and entertainment. Sunday, they will attend church, and lunch will be served following the service. June 29

Join the Patriotic Jamboree, June 29, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro to experience an exciting, historical journey. The Celebration Choir and Orchestra will present popular patriotic songs and you are invited to join them in singing some classic, encouraging Southern gospel tunes. July 6

Liberty Baptist Church in Riverdale will host its God and County Day Spectacular on Sunday, July 6. There will be patriotic singing, videos, inspirational testimonies, and recognition of living military personnel. July 7-11

St. Timothy Lutheran Church will host a Summer Camp for first to fifth-grade youths July 7-11, 9 a.m., to 3 p.m., daily. There will be educational activities, arts, crafts, music, and sports. The Ole Country Church invites everyone to its Huge Church Yard Sale on Friday, July 11, and Saturday, July 12, from 8 a.m., to 4 p.m. The church is located at 2649 Highway 155 North in McDonough. July 13

The Ole Country Church is celebrating its 12th anniversary and homecoming on Sunday morning, July 13. The service will begin at 10 a.m., with The Heirborn Quartet in concert. Everyone is welcome. August 2

The sixth annual Tomato Sandwich Party benefit to support the Good Shepherd Clinic in Morrow will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2, from 5-7:30 p.m., in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Morrow. There will be live entertainment, tours of the clinics from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and of course, the tomato sandwiches made famous by the Wood family. All proceeds will benefit the Good Shepherd Clinic, which is supported solely by donations and volunteers. The clinic is presently accepting donations and looking for sponsors. Beginning Wednesday, June 18, and for the next following five weeks, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, located at 377 Valley Hill Road in Riverdale, will host an Intergenerational Vacation Bible School. With the theme, "Building On the Rock." Each Wednesday evening session will include a light supper, devotions, singing, story time, and arts and crafts.
