Henry Police investigating jewelry store robbery

Authorities in Henry County are searching for a man who robbed a local jewelry store at gunpoint earlier this week.

The heist took place at Parkway Jewelers, located at 506 Eagle's Landing Pkwy., in Stockbridge.

According to Henry County Police Capt. Jason Bolton, a black male, approximately 20 years old, entered the store and began talking to store personnel.

"The suspect spoke with the salesperson, before placing a yellow bandana over his face," said the captain, adding that the suspect then brandished a pistol.

The unidentified man reportedly stole an undisclosed amount of money, two guns and jewelry from the business, before fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as 6 feet tall, with a thin, muscular build. Police say at the time of the robbery, the man was wearing a white tank top, black pants, white sneakers, a black cap and a neck chain.

Authorities said the thief's pants had a patch on the right rear pocket. His cap displayed a sticker on the bill and a logo on the front and back.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Police Detective John Thacker, at (770) 288-8304.
