I can remember my mother and grandmother saying many times how they hoped things would happen to our family.
They hoped for a pretty day, so we could get the garden ready for planting, or they hoped it would rain so the garden would grow.
They hoped for good health and that some one in our family would feel better or get well. Generally, they hoped for good things to happen to us and that good would happen for all folks.
We all need to have hope in our lives for our hope and desires drive us to do things which will make our hopes and dreams a reality. The important thing to remember is to be sure our hopes are for the right things in life.
If we hope we win the lottery or for material things that are beyond our ability to receive, then we are dealing with false hope, because we will not be able to have them. Our hopes and dreams should be realistic; they should be for achievable things which we can plan for and set goals to guide our efforts to secure them.
A good education, a good job, good health and a happy, satisfying life are things we all hope for and spend most of our lives trying to achieve. While these are good things, we must not neglect to develop our spiritual life as so many are prone to do today.
They learn to trust in themselves and to depend on their ability to achieve the things they want in life. In doing so, they limit their success for they have failed to recognize God and to trust in Him, to depend on Him to guide their lives.
True hope is found in having faith in God and believing in Jesus Christ.
Now our horizons are not bound by this world we live in, but are boundless because of the grace and mercies of our God through Jesus Christ. Jesus said; "I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father except through me."
When one believes this statement and puts his faith in Jesus Christ, then he discovers the way to God and finds his hope in the life and truth of Christ. Then, his life is open to new dimensions, he begins to read the Bible and listen to the teaching of Jesus and he finds the true meaning of life itself. It is found in the great truths of God Himself whose desire for each person is for him to become more and more like His Son Jesus, every day he lives.
Our hope and trust in Jesus opens the door of eternal life to us and to everyone who believes. In fact, eternal life begins, not when we die and go to heaven, but when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior.
The statement: "How to find hope for your life" is answered by our faith in Jesus Christ. The great verse in the Bible which tells us this fact is found in Ephesians 2:8, which says, "By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God."
We are saved through the love of God because of our faith, our belief in God the Father and the Son, not because of anything we have done. It is God's gift to His child.
If you want to have true hope in the future life in heaven with God Himself and Jesus, His Son, you must decide to believe in Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Savior, repenting of your sin and asking for forgiveness.
You have the freedom to choose. God will not force you to believe and repent of your sin. Please make the right decision today!
Then, you will find hope, true hope for your life. May God bless you.
