Nellie Price June 19, 1936 - March 7, 2008
Mrs. Nellie Mary Price, 71, of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Price was born in Klamath Falls, Ore., on June 19, 1936, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Riccardo Barrison. Mrs. Price was preceded in death by a son, Robert Turner. She was a member of Sunnyside United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry D. Price; daughters, Maria Green and Phyllis Carpenter, both of Stockbridge, Tracy Bigham, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; sons, Austin Turner, of Burney, Calif., Ralph Price, of Barnesville, Ga., Jerry D. Price, of Woodstock; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 10, 2008 at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Sanders officiating. Interment followed in the Sunnyside United Methodist Church cemetery, with the Rev. Charles Black officiating.

Ruth Lynne Smith
Ruth Lynne Smith, 67, of Smyrna, formerly of Riverdale, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2008. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at 11a.m., at Pope Dickson & Son - Jonesboro Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Ritch officiating. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 11, from 6-8 p.m.
She is survived by her brothers, John F. Smith, Thomas C. Smith and Roy S. Smith; sisters, Willie M. Bishop, Rachel S. Atwood, Donna S. Jackson and Rebecca A. Pace, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Barbara Daniel Edwards
Barbara Daniel Edwards, 70, of Rex, passed away, Sunday, March 9, 2008 in Cobb County. She was born Jan. 9, 1938 in Fulton County, the daughter of the late Oddis Odel Daniel and Fannie Louise Kuykendoll Daniel. She was a homemaker and member of the Stockbridge Assembly of God Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lamar Edwards, Sr, and daughter, Mary Ruth Edwards.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law; Jeff and Lois Edwards, Samuel "Sammy" and Tammy Edwards, Jr., all of Douglasville, Greg and Brenda Edwards, of Stockbridge, and Matthew Dean Edwards, of Rex.; sisters and brothers-in-law; Irene and Chuck Jackson, of Villa Rica, and Inez and Thomas Maddox, of Douglasville; grandchildren, William Daniel Edwards, Jennifer Zavala, Sean Edwards, Andee Edwards, Amanda Edwards, Cameron Edwards, Kyle Edwards, Tyler Edwards and Jacob Edwards; great grandchildren, Felix Zavala, Jr., Carlos Zavala, Devlin Edwards, Sutton Edwards, and Michaela Edwards.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 12, at 1:30 p.m., from Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville, with the Rev. Sammy Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, with the College Park Fire Department serving as Pallbearers.

Mrs. Linda Fay McDonald, age 59, of Jonesboro passed away March 10, 2008.
She is survived by sons, Shane McDonald and Matthew McDonald; sisters, Brenda Williams and Martha Franklin; brothers, John Ashworth, Glenn Ashworth, David Ashworth and Robert Ashworth. The family will receive friends at the Morrow Chapel of Pope Dickson & Son from 9 a.m., until 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 11. Mrs. McDonald's body will then be transported to Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 N. Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Ala., (256- 245-1616.) Charles Bradford "Buddy" Newell, Sr.
Mr. Charles Bradford "Buddy" Newell, Sr., 87, of McDonough, passed away March 10, 2008 at Emory University Hospital. He was born in Pontotoc, Miss., to the late Collis Reed and Bessie Delilah Russell Newell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Marie Montgomery Newell, and by a grandson, Kenneth Bradford Newell. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was retired from MMG Dimestores. Mr. Newell was a very active member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Masonic lodge. He enjoyed fishing, music, and playing his guitar.
Survivors include son and daughte-in-law, Brad and Arlene Newell, of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Joe Oslizlo, of Litchfield, N.H.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Alice Gustafson, of Forest Park; brother and sister-in-law, David and Linda Newell, of Tiger, Ga.; beloved companion, Ruth L. Butler, of McDonough; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 12, at 1 p.m., at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church. Rev. Alex Stroud will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may visit the family Tuesday from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home. Mr. Newell will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Contributions may be made to the Mt.
