Raymond A. Townsend
Mr. Raymond A. Townsend, 85, of Hampton, passed away, March 11, 2008. He retired with 40 years of service from Southern Railway. He was a member of Jonesboro First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy " Dot" Townsend; son, Doug Townsend, of Hampton; sister, Grace Mathews, of Hampton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, March 15, at 2 p.m., at Jonesboro First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Beverly Casstevens and the Rev. Kyle T. Smith will officiate. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends, Friday, March 14, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
