Youths of the First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro are hosting a family movie night on March 14 at 7 p.m. Movie titles will be announced. The Community Impact Center invites you, on Saturday, March 15 from 9 a.m., to 1 p.m., to r first annual small business workshop, entitled, "Doing Business the Right Way." The United Methodist Men of Stockbridge and Jonesboro are proud to present our 1st Annual Pit Stop Community Car Inspection on Saturday, March 15 from 10 a.m.. to 2 p.m. Inspections will be at four locations: Stockbridge First UMC, 4863 North Henry Blvd., Red Oak UMC at 3894 Walt Stephens Road, Trinity UMC at 112 Wilson Ave., and Jodeco Road UMC at 1500 Jodeco Road. The inspections will include a general safety check, a tire inspection, and a visual check of belts, hoses, battery, and fluid levels. This service is offered free to the community. Anvil Block United Methodist Church announces its Chicken Stew. On March 15, from 1-4 p.m. The chicken stew is sold by the gallon for $20, and by the quart for $5. Morrow Presbyterian Church's annual "Scones and Fables" book sale will be held Saturday, March 15 in the church's fellowship hall from 10 a.m., to 3 p.m. All profits will go to the American Cancer Society through the church's Relay for Life team, "The Cross Walkers." For years Clayton County has enjoyed this large book sale as a way to donate books they no longer need as well as a way to buy books they want at low prices. Forest Park First Baptist Church, located at 634 Main Street in Forest Park, will host a Dinner Theater on Saturday, March 15 at 5 p.m. The church will also celebrate its 135th year the following Sunday, with a special Bible study at 9:30 a.m., a Homecoming Celebration Service at 10:30 a.m., and a Barbecue Luncheon starting at noon. Jodeco Road United Methodist Church Choir will host the first part of our Easter Cantata, "Amazing Grace," on Sunday, March 16 at 11 a.m. The second half of the cantata will be presented on Easter Sunday, March 23 during the 11 a.m., worship service. Living Faith Tabernacle in Forest Park will hold a prayer vigil for the Clayton County School System on Monday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. We will be inviting all Clayton County schools, school board members, school officials, and all students in Clayton County to come together to pray for the Clayton County School system in the midst of the accreditation crisis. Corinth Baptist Church in Jonesboro will host Life Line Screenings on March 20 starting at 9 a.m. People in Jonesboro and the surrounding community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke. The screenings are painless and identify potential health problems such as blocked arteries, irregular heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and the hardening of leg arteries. A bone density screening to asses the risk of osteoporosis is also offered. A Wellness Package, which includes five different screenings, is $149. Ellenwood United Methodist Church will team up with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers to host a blood drive on Good Friday, March 21. St. Augustine's Episcopal Church will host an Easter Vigil on Saturday, March 22 at 7 p.m. On March 23, Easter Sunday Services will take place at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., followed by Brunch with the Easter Bunny and an Easter Egg Hunt starting at 12:30 p.m. The church is located at 1221 Morrow Road in Morrow. Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Forest Park will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 22. Infants and children up to fifth-grade are invited to participate. Registration starts at 1:30 p.m. The Easter Egg Hunt starts promptly at 2 p.m., so don't be late. Special prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served. Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in Riverdale will host Easter morning services on March 23 at 8:30-11 a.m. We will celebrate the resurrection of Christ with a Festive Service of Communion. On Friday, March 28 at First Baptist Church of Jonesboro, popular Christian recording artist, songwriter, and comedian Mark Lowry will bring the "Be the Miracle Tour" to Jonesboro. April 5

The Presbytery of Greater Atlanta has designated April 5 as "Presbyterian Day of Service." First Presbyterian Church of Jonesboro wants to encourage every member, adult and youth, to participate in this new project. The church will gather on Saturday morning, April 5 at the Good Shepherd Clinic to assist in Spring cleaning of the facility. The clinic is located at 6392 Murphy Drive in Morrow. April 12

Christ Our Hope Lutheran Church in Riverdale will have a Work Day on Saturday, April 12 at 9 a.m. to clean up the church property. May 18-24

Morrow Presbyterian Church's senior group, "Young at Heart," is sponsoring a seven-day motor coach trip to Mackinac Island, Mich. from May 18-24. Several seat are available for this historic and scenic tour. The cost for the trip is $625 per person (double occupancy) which includes transportation, 10 meals, lodging and attractions. Starting March 30, the Counseling Ministry of Liberty Baptist Church in Riverdale will host a 12-week Grief and Loss Class in the Fellowship Hall, every Sunday afternoon from 4-5:30 p.m. The cost is $10. This course is open to all LBC members and non-members who have experience loss of a loved one through death, divorce, break up, loss of reputation or good name, aging or health loss, loss of possessions as a result of theft, fire, accident, bankruptcy, or loss of a dream or goal. Financial Peace University (FPU), the 13-week program taught by Dave Ramsey, teaches families and individuals how to handle their money through common sense principles and small group accountability. Family Life Missionary Baptist Church invites the public to "Kingdom Basketball" every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Come and bring the whole family for a Saturday a free basketball for boys and girls, ages 10-19. Bear Creek Bible Church provides worship in a "house church" setting each Sunday evening at 7 p.m., and Bible Study each Wednesday evening at 7:15 p.m. Bear Creek Church is one of a very few churches in Georgia that focuses almost completely on reaching recovering alcoholics and drug addicts for Jesus Christ. First Monday Prayer is another opportunity to join with other prayer warriors to pray for spiritual renewal, concerns of the church body, the nation, and the world. First Monday Prayer takes place in the church chapel on the first Monday of each month from 10-11 a.m. The Prayer Pager Ministry is offered to those of the church family who are experiencing a grave illness or extreme emergency.
