Bill Chunn

Bill Chunn, age 74, of Hampton, Ga. died Saturday, March 22, 2008. He was born in, Meriwether County, Ga. to the late William Lewis and Mary Emma Fowler Chunn. Mr. Chunn was a member of Stockbridge Assembly of God church.

Mr. Chunn is survived by his wife, Joyce Chunn; children, Vicki (Ron) McCall, Locust Grove, Ga., Gene (Janet) Chunn, Newnan, Ga. and Christie (Jerry) Faulkner, Locust Grove, Ga.; siblings, Ben Chunn, Valdosta, Ga. and Annett Tucciarone, Greenville, Ga.; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren..

Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Jerry Stewart, officiating. Interment will follow at Woodbury City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Charles Thomas Bisch

Charles Thomas Bisch, age 44 of Jonesboro, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 22, 2008. He was employed by Rayloc Genuine Parts in Atlanta and was a member of Jonesboro United Methodist Church in Jonesboro, GA. Mr. Bisch is survived by his wife, Anesa Roberts Bisch; son, Spencer Bisch of Jonesboro; daughter, Caroline Bisch and her fiancé, Michael Cole both of Griffin; parents, Theodore "Ted" and Betty Bisch of Jackson, Ga.; sister, Terry Garcia and husband Ruben of Morrow; brothers, John Bisch of Morrow, James Bisch and wife, Denise of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandparents, Bertha Hayden of Desloge, Mo., Juanita Delfel and husband, Charles of St. Louis, Mo.; mother-in-law, Carol Roberts of Stockbridge; sister-in-law, Angela Roberts of Stockbridge; brother-in-law, Marty Roberts and wife Stephanie of Stockbridge; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. Charlie also leaves best friends who he considered family, Joe and Sharmi Thor of Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Jonesboro First United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Robinson and Rev. Kyle Smith officiating. Mr. Bisch will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Cremation will follow. Family will receive friends, Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at Horis A. Ward's Tara Chapel in Jonesboro. Charlie was a loving, devoted husband, father and friend to all who knew him. He lived life to the fullest and will be truly missed. Newton P. Thacker

Newton P. Thacker, age 56 of Ellenwood, passed away on March 20, 2008. Mr. Thacker is survived by sons, Nathan Thacker of Forest Park, Michael A. Thacker of Ellenwood; sister, Linda McEllhannon of Ellenwood, Brenda Harrell of Stockbridge; brothers, Ronnie Thacker of Cleveland, Norman Thacker of Ellenwood and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Thacker is a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services for Newton will be held on Monday, March 25, 008 at 2 p.m. at Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel with Rev. Greg Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens. Horis A. Ward Fairview Chapel (770) 474-7231.

Martha Elizabeth Conkle Hammock

Martha Elizabeth Conkle Hammock, age 93 of McDonough, Ga. passed away March 21, 2008.

The daughter of Andrew and Mary C. Willis Conkle was predeceased in death by her husband T. E. (Bud) Hammock and sister, Jewell Wilkerson. Mrs. Hammock owned and share and worked in Conkle's Five & Ten store from January 1929 until she assumed ownership of Hammock Hardware after her husband's death. She retained ownership until the mid 1980s and continued to be a vital part of the business, working well into her 80s. A loving and devoted mother, her life was filled with faithful service to her family. She was a long time member of Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by her five children, Martha Jo and Randy Carver, Tommy Hammock, Gary Hammock, Carey and Dianne Hammock, Jerry and Jane Hammock; her six grandchildren, Mark and Traci Carver, Brian Carver, Melinda Carver and fiancé Matt Arvin, Jeff and Kristen Hammock, Jamey and Lisa Hammock, and Jennifer Hammock; and six great grandchildren, Coby and Charlie Carver, Samuel and Benjamin Hammock, Chase and Cole Hammock; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Hammock and niece Sheila Wilkerson Binkney. Mrs. Hammock was blessed by many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Dan McKay, Rev. Rick Statham, and Rev. Bobby Swafford officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in McDonough. The family received friends on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
