Herbert N. Turner
Herbert N. Turner, 72, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m., at Pope Dickson & Son-Jonesboro Chapel, with Rev. Tom Shannon officiating. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park.
His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, May 16, from 2-8 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his daughter; Wendy Jo Love, and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Turner; daughter, Robin Turner; daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Mike Walter; grandchildren, Karen Love, Joey Walter, Mikey Walter, Kathy Walter, and Lauren Walter; two brothers, two sisters; sister-in-law, Nell Turner, and several nieces and nephews. Patricia Ann Davis Roberts
Patricia Ann Davis Roberts, 64, formerly of Morrow, died Wednesday, May 14, at the residence of her daughter in Jackson. She was born Oct. 20, 1943 in Graham County, N.C., the daughter of the late Clirman H. and Mabel Prather Davis.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Clayton County. Survivors include her children, Tonya Caye Roberts Green, of Jackson; David Sean Roberts, of Knoxville, Tenn.; Eric Thornton Roberts, of Pennsylvania, and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Patricia Ann Davis Roberts will be Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Pickel will officiate. Entombment will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum in the Jackson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, from 10-11a.m., and at other times at the residence of her daughter, Tonya, at 317 Levi Barnes Road near Jackson. Haisten Funeral Home of Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
Sonia Ann Lavender
Sonia Ann Lavender, 68, wife of Roger Lavender, died Thursday, May 8, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Foster Huff and Anna Bell Hainey Huff. Sonia retired from the University of Georgia accounts payable department, and was a member of Antioch Christian Church.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two sons, Richard Barron Lavender, of Kennesaw, and Jeffery Allen Lavender, of Monroe; daughter, Anna Marie Lavender, of Watkinsville, and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 12, at 10 a.m., at Antioch Christian Church, with the Rev. Jeff Wilkes officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home, Sunday, May 11.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Lord & Stephens, WEST is in charge of arrangements.
